C. Russell Myers Memorial Art Exhibition
This is a Painting Competition applying the guidelines of the C. Russell Myers Trust Fund created for
the San Angelo Art Club. There will be approximately $2,400 in awards to artists in 2 major Divisions:
Paintings and Miniature Paintings. All paintings should be realistic in style.
Entries Received October 31st & November 3rd - 10am to 1pm
Show Opens November 5th at the Kendall Gallery and runs till December 9th
Reception/Awards November 5th at the Kendall Gallery 7:00pm
Pick up art December 9th (between 1:00 & 4:00p.m.)
JUDGE: The Judge for this show will be Elaine May, an artist and teacher experienced in realism.
SAAC Members: $15 per entry or 3 entries $35 , (10% commission on sales)
Non-members: $20 per entry or 3 entries $50, (20% commission on sales)
University students w/ID: $10 per entry or 3 entries $25, (10% comm. on sales)
These fees apply to each Division, and artists may enter both Divisions (regular & miniature) if they so choose.
Only paintings in Oil, Watercolor, or Acrylic will be accepted in the 2 award Divisions, and artists may enter both divisions and win one cash prize in each.
The Divisions are:
Miniature paintings - 8”x10” and smaller may be entered (realistic work only). Larger paintings will be judged in a separate category (paintings not to exceed 60” in any dimension including frame.) With at least 10 of each medium, (oil, acrylic or watercolors) there will be awards in each division. Again, art for this show should be “realistic”.
ELIGIBILITY & SPECIFICATIONS:
Open to All Area Wide Artists. All entries must be REALISTIC & ORIGINAL. No abstract, collage, computer generated art, or copies of workshop or classroom works. (Direct copies of professional or published photographs are not considered your original work, but the work of the photographer.) All paintings must be properly framed & wired for hanging – (watercolor behind glass or plexiglass.) No wet paint or saw-tooth hangers. Please cover your name for judging.
**If a painting has been entered in a SAAC show & never won a ribbon you may enter it again (one time only).
Also there will be no restrictions on age of painting for this show only.
SAAC reserves the right to refuse an entry not in good taste or not in compliance with SAAC regulations. Entries may not be removed from gallery before Dec. 9th without the approval of the exhibition chairperson. No refunds.

Receiving paintings only on 1/5 – Awards given meeting night 1/7/19
Gallery reopens to the public on January 9th
FEB. 4th – 27th “DRIVEN TO ABSTRACTION” OPEN to all area-wide artists
Entries received 1/30 & 2/2 – Awards given at Meeting on 2/4
MAR. 3rd – 31st “SPRINGTIME MEMBERSHIP SHOW” – ALL –IN-ONE – All media accepted
Entries received 2/27 & 3/2 – ACTIVE MEMBERS ONLY - Awards meeting night 3/4
APR. 20th & 21st GALLERY CLOSED for the Easter weekend
APR. “FORT CONCHO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL” dates to be announced
MAY 1st – 26th “Impressions of San Angelo” – Active & Associate members - a fundraiser?

OPEN to all area-wide artists! Receiving 5/29 & 6/1 Awards @ Meeting 6/3
The Gallery will be closed on the Wednesday, before July 4th
AUG. 5th PICNIC (potluck feast) at 6:00p.m.
CLOSED the rest of August until after Labor Day, September 2, 2019
